We serve our first responders by serving the community.
Chaplains are a light in the darkest hours. Our chaplains respond to
crises of all types. They are on the scene providing support to the first
responders who witness, and provide aid to people, experiencing life-
threatening events and suffering trauma. With a mission to offer
assistance in the form of emotional support, information, and
resources to emergency personnel and to survivors, their commitment
is unwavering.
Chef Jens Nannestad
Jens was born and raised in Sweden and studied engineering before entering the culinary field. He studied in Europe and graduated with honors in 1985 from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. Upon moving to Alaska, Chef Jens worked at The Crow’s Nest. In late 1995, he opened Southside Bistro, one of the most popular restaurants in Anchorage with a menu based on the philosophy of “Fresh Fun Food.”
